Next Element was set up in 2006 by professionals from within the publishing industry who had years of experience. When given the task to launch a new global magazine they looked at the current available options and decided a new approach was needed. The costs of publishing to traditional print media have steadily been increasing, paper, printing and distribution costs have all risen dramatically over the last ten years. Of course this isn’t to mention the environmental impact that the traditional publishing industry has. With computers and the Internet on the increase, and speeds getting faster all the time the team at Next Element decided to utilise this ever increasing resource.
After several months working round the clock on the software they launched the new magazine title. Overnight it was a huge success, outstripping paper sales of similar titles in days. The viral nature of the Internet meant the magazine could be distributed around the globe in seconds and there were no boundaries in terms of distribution. The magazine didn’t use any paper or any harmful ink, distribution didn’t require the use of fossil fuels and the entire concept was seen as a very positive step by those who care for the environment.
